4X4 EVOC INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM
This is a 24-hour course that provides attendees exposure to instructing High Center of Gravity vehicle operations in both the on-road and off-road environments. Day one is classroom and on-road operations. Days two and three focus on off-road operations. Attendees will be provided instruction regarding high center of gravity vehicle dynamics, expounded use of four-wheel drive vehicles in two-wheel/four-wheel/four-wheel low, and instruction on vehicle limitations. The last day of the course attendees will be required to demonstrate proficiency of all the driving techniques they are instructed on while completing a scenario to pass the course.
Day one will be conducted in the Denver metro area. Days two and three will be conducted on an off-road training environment near Breckenridge, Colorado. Meals will be provided on days two and three in the field to conserve training time.
Attendees will need to provide an agency vehicle equipped with standard four-wheel and low four-wheel drive for use in training. 100% attendance and participation is required. Those attending must have successfully completed a Colorado POST approved driving instructor program prior to the course, and will need to provide a copy of their certificate to attend.
VEHICLE COUNTER AMBUSH TECHNIQUES (VCAT)
This is a 40-hour course intended for members of specialized units responsible for high-risk transports (such as high profile inmate, at-risk witnesses, etc.). Training will be conducted in four 10-hour days. Those attending will be provided training in identifying ambush points and kill-zones, techniques in preventing and evading vehicle ambushes, dynamic vehicle operations, team operations, vehicle caravanning techniques, and transport planning. On the last day the attendees will be required to demonstrate these techniques in a variety of scenario based training.
Those attending will need to complete a proficiency evaluation during the first day of training. This course is intended for those who have a better than average ability to operate vehicles, and must be a member of a specialized unit within their agency.
This course requires a host agency to facilitate. There are specific equipment and facility needs that include classroom, AV equipment, training facility, training vehicles equipped for TVI/PIT training, and Simunition training weapons. The total number of attendees is capped at 12. The host agency should be allowed four to six attendees to attend as compensation for providing these logistics. Participants will be required to attend on duty and provide an agency vehicle.
ADVANCED L.E. DRIVING INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM (ALEDIP)

Remedial training techniques
This is a two week course that has both classroom and on-the-track training. Those attending must have successfully completed a Colorado POST approved driving instructor program prior to the course, and will need to provide a copy of their certificate to attend. Also, it would benefit participants (but is not a requirement) to complete a train-the-trainer course prior to attending this course.
Attendees will need to provide a sedan-sized agency vehicle for use during four days of training. They will need to provide a high center of gravity vehicle equipped with standard four-wheel and low four-wheel drive during two days of training. 100% attendance and participation is required. Attendees will have to successfully pass both written and physical skills exams to be certified.
